Where can you get cheap gas? There are primarily two ways of achieving this. In this article, I’ll show you how to make your car travel further.

Everyone is talking about the bailout and the financial crisis. Everyone knows that recession is imminent (or it may already be here depending on when you are reading this article). The one thing that you can do for yourself and your family is to try and save money on running your car. Let’s find out how.

Getting Cheap Gas

I recommend using a service like GasBuddy.com. This will show you where you can obtain cheaper gas locally. In general, you should find the gas stations that are attached to supermarkets or large grocers. They will have good deals designed to entice you to shop there as well.

Also, look at credit cards. There are some cards out there that allow you to save up to 5% if you buy gas using them. One example is the Discover Card.

Better Mileage

You can also save money on gas by getting better mileage.

Inflate your tyres to the correct pressure. Underinflated tyres lead to rolling resistance and higher fuel consumption.

Get rid of excess weight that you may be carrying. A lot of people carry around junk that they do not need in the trunk, for example.

Try to maintain as constant a speed as possible. Be smooth on the accelerator. Quick bursts of acceleration will mean higher fuel consumption and greater engine wear in the long run.

Car Adaptation

Consider adapting your car to use hybrid technology. Either you can do this yourself or a mechanic can do it for you. The cost of it will be replenished within only one month.

The most common adaptation is the addition of the water/HHO generator. Hundreds of municipal departments are converting entire car fleets as we speak in order to save monthly running costs as we enter harder times.
